Announcement of PhD position
A PhD position at Massey University is currently available for students interested in identifying foodborne pathogens and antimicrobial resistance genes in the retail food chain using cutting-edge real-time sequencing technologies. The project title is ‘Real-time, long-read metagenomics for identification of pathogens from retail poultry.’
This position involves working with an international multidisciplinary team led by Prof Patrick Biggs and colleagues from Massey University, Palmerston North, AgResearch, the New Zealand poultry industry, and Nanjing Agricultural University (China).  More details can be found here. The closing date for applications is 15 October 2022 (please include a CV and cover letter).

Announcement of PhD position
A PhD position at the University of Queensland is currently looking for applicants for a project studying gut methanogen biodiversity in native Australian herbivores. The position is a collaboration between the Diamantina Institute and Australian Centre for Ecogenomics and is currently looking for to recruit an applicant from Australia or New Zealand, who can commence their studies in late 2021, or by January, 2022.
